Your evening starts with a hotel pickup in southern Tenerife. Your guide collects you, and from that moment, the night is taken care of.
First, you have a picnic in the pine forest, all provided for you.
Then you head up. As the coach climbs through the pine forests, the world below disappears. By the time you reach Teide National Park, you are above the clouds. The sun drops behind the horizon in front of you, and the sky turns colours you will not forget.
Then the stars come out. Tenerife sits at 28 degrees north with almost no light pollution, and at this altitude the atmosphere is so clear it feels like the universe has moved closer. Your guide, with over 10 years of experience leading these tours, walks you through what you are seeing through professional telescopes. Not a script. A conversation. He knows this sky, and it shows.
Warm layers and blankets are provided. All you need to bring is yourself.

You do not need to bring much. Comfortable clothing, closed shoes, and a light jacket for the journey are all you need. The guide speaks English, Spanish and Dutch, so communication is easy throughout the evening. Babies from 0 to 2 years join free of charge. The evening pace is relaxed, starting with a sit-down dinner before heading up to the national park, so there is no rushing and children have time to settle into the experience. Warm layers and blankets are provided, keeping everyone comfortable once the temperature drops after sunset.
It will be cooler up at Teide than on the coast, sometimes noticeably so, even in summer. The altitude sits at around 2,000 metres, and once the sun goes down the temperature drops. That is part of what makes the sky so clear and the experience so memorable. Warm layers and blankets are provided on the tour, so you do not need to worry about packing bulky clothing. We do recommend wearing comfortable closed shoes and bringing a light jacket as a base layer, just to be comfortable from the moment you leave your hotel.

At 2,000 metres, the sky above the volcano is almost always open and completely clear. The only condition that affects the tour is high cloud sitting above the volcano itself, which is rare. If that happens, your guide will contact you promptly and offer you the choice of another available date or a full refund. You can also cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before departure if your plans change.
